The Malon lack the technology to recycle antimatter waste, which emitted hazardous theta radiation. Therefore, this hazardous waste was dumped in open space in vast quantities by waste export vessels. Malon waste exporters had many sores on their skin due to theta radiation exposure. The Malon used analeptic compound injections to counter the freighter blight, but while the treatment kept them alive, it did not prevent skin scarring.

Malcorians were a people who believed that they were the highest form of life and that their planet was at the center of the universe. Their planet had a unified government led by a chancellor.

In 2367, the Malcorians were about to initiate their warp program, by launching their first warp-capable spacecraft. The crew of the USS Enterprise-D was undergoing the final preparations for First Contact when Commander Riker was injured and captured. The events led to their decision to delay the warp program and further contact with the Federation.

The Meridians were a humanoid species who were the descendants of an expedition that was stranded on the planet Meridian. They spent sixty years in a non-corporeal state as the planet shifted between dimensions. While in physical form the Meridians were humanoid in appearance. The time spent in the physical universe was used to experience physical sensation, get to know each other, and raise families.

The Metrons were a powerful, mysterious species who intervene in Captain Kirk’s battle with the Gorn on stardate 3045.6. Being surprised at the mercy Kirk shows to the Gorn, the Metron indicates that in perhaps a thousand years, they will be ready to make contact with the Federation.

The microbrain was the name given to an inorganic lifeform found during terraforming of planet Velara III.

Analysis by the Enterprise computer found that it is comprised of silicon, germanium, gallium arsenide, cadmium selenide, sulfide, water, sodium salt, and various impurities.

Despite being inorganic, it was defined as alive when it reproduced on the Enterprise D. It appeared intelligent when it connected to the Enterprise’s computer and attempted to communicate via the universal translator declaring “war” and calling humans “ugly bags of mostly water”.

Mintakan

The Mintakans are a proto-Vulcan humanoid species, who are in a Bronze Age state of technology. In 2366, a Federation anthropological team studying the Mintakans, accidentally exposed the primitive culture to their technology. The USS Enterprise-D responded to the situation and unknowingly worsened the cultural contamination when the Mintakans observed their transporter technology.

As a result, the previously discarded beliefs in supernatural beings began to resurface in the village. This led to them thinking Captain Picard was the Overseer (god), and worshipping “the Picard”.The Mintakans did not abandon this belief until Picard was almost killed with a bow and arrow.

Miradorn
