Walter Koenig As Alfred Bester
Leigh J. McCloskey As Thomas
Robin Atkin Downes As Byron
Victor Love As Telepath
Synopsis: Byron reveals to Lyta that part of the hostility between him and Bester comes from the fact that Byron was once the Psi Cop’s protege. Byron and Lyta emerge from their hiding place in an attempt to end the telepath situation peacefully. Unfortunately, Bester has other plans for them. Byron and several other teeps commit a rather horrific suicide by fire to avoid capture. Lyta seems to take the mantle of leadership for the telepaths that are left on Babylon 5. Garibaldi confronts Bester about his capture and reprogramming by the Psi Corps and tries to kill him. When Garibaldi finds himself unable to pull the trigger of his PPG, the Psi Cop then tells him that part of his conditioning included the implantation of a mind block which prevents Garibaldi from harming him or allowing harm to come to him. As a result, Garibaldi does something that he hasn’t done in a very long time: he begins drinking.
Sheridan: Did you know that Garibaldi has been here longer than anyone else in the command structure? Yea, he came on board with Sinclair. And despite a history of alcohol abuse, despite being shoot, stabbed, beaten up, he has survived five years in this place.
Sheridan: This is president Sheridan. I have consulted with Captain Lochley and we have reached a decision regarding the current situation. It is not the policy of the interstellar alliance or this station to bargain with terrorist for the lives of hostages. If we open that door even once, we will never be able to close it again. You have two choices, surrender or we will use lethal force to bring you down. You have ten minutes.
Byron: (sings) And we will all come together in better place. A better place than this. Sheridan: Clear out! Move! Go, go, go! Get out of here. Everybody out.
Bester: The corps is mother, the corps is father.
Sheridan: There is only one thing more dangerous then Mr. Garibaldi when he is loud, it’s when he is dead silent.
Lyta: I love you Byron. How can I leave you? Byron: I’m already gone. It’s to late for me, but not for the others. They are my life’s work and my redemption for sins past. You can not save my life, but you can save my soul.
Bester: You can talk to me. Everyone talks to me. People like talking to me. I guess, I just have that kind of face.
