Synopsis: Sheridan has been interrogated on Mars for nearly a week. Garibaldi is caught by the Mars Resistance and is nearly killed for turning in Sheridan. Number One is ready to shoot him on sight; however, Stephen Franklin persuades her to listen with him to Garibaldi’s story. Michael pleads with Lyta to scan him, and she confirms his story. This allows Garibaldi, along with Franklin and Lyta, to rescue Sheridan from his interrogators on Mars. The League of Nonaligned Worlds, along with the Narn and Centauri, vote to back Sheridan’s forces with ships from their own fleets. Ivanova, commanding the resistance fleet, learns of an ambush planned by Clark’s forces using new super destroyers. She and Marcus lead only the White Star ships to the engagement, which they win. Shrapnel from an exploding Earth Force ship hits Ivanova’s ship head-on, and Susan is very seriously injured. Sheridan, upon request by the dying Ivanova, takes command of the Agamemnon and leads the entire fleet to engage Clark’s forces at Mars.
Lyta: Michael, if I do a deep scan, it could damage you. Garibaldi: If you don’t, they are going to kill me. Now a headache I can get over. I am not sure I am going to get over being dead anytime soon.
Garibaldi: Yea, I got a receipt from the PSI certifying my brain has been dry cleaned, pressed, and starched.
Sheridan: If you are going to wait for the universe to start making sense, you’ll have a long wait ahead of you.
G’kar: Sheridan is not alone and you are not alone. The league stands with you. We all stand with you.
G’kar: Since the war, we have begun working together as never before. In the past we had nothing in common, but now the humans have become the glue that holds us together. Vir: If Sheridan’s forces are defeated, then Earth will turn in upon itself. They will become isolated or there turn against the rest of us. Londo: Politically, it is very wise. G’kar: Morally, it is even wiser. Vir: Politics and morally on the same side? That doesn’t happen every day, Delenn.
Franklin: This damn well better be worth it, because if this story of your turns out to be bogus, I am going to kill you twice. You got that?.
Ivanova: This is the White Star Fleet. Negative on surrender! We will not stand down. Captain J Thompson: Who is this? Identify yourself. Ivanova: Who am I? I am Susan Ivanova. Commander. Daughter of Andrei and Sophie Ivanov. I am the right hand of vengeance and the boot that is going to kick your sorry ass all the way back to Earth. I am death incarnate and the last living thing that you are every going to see. God sent me.
